FAQs

How do I order a box?

Right here! Tell us your name, where to deliver your box, and click on the picture of the box you want to try! Easy peasy.

Can I order more than one box?

You sure can! On your order form, you’ll pick the first box you wish to start with, along with your next choices. We will deliver your first box the first week of December. Let us know by text, email or Facebook, when you’re ready for your next box, and we’ll deliver that right to you.

How much do boxes cost?

Zero dollars! Boxes are free to order and use, thanks to the generosity of posAbilities and The Vancouver Foundation.

What if something in my box breaks?

Mazel Tov! That means congratulations, in Hebrew! Breaking stuff is part of using stuff. And that’s the point of Meraki. We want you to try everything out. If something breaks or isn’t working, that’s quite alright. Get in touch with us by text, email or Facebook. We can replace things!

What if I don’t understand something?

Boxes are packed with new stuff -- so it’s totally normal to not understand how something works. While we’ve tried to write and draw explanations in the guidebook for each Box, we welcome you reaching out to us by text, email or Facebook with questions. Our team provides free coaching and can even come out and do a “demo” of the box.

Do I need to know anything to use a box?

Nope! Boxes are meant to be all-inclusive experiences, meaning most everything you need is in the box. Explore what’s inside. Get curious and creative. There is no wrong way to use a box!

Can I make my own box?

AMAZING! Anybody can be a muse -- including you! We’d love to work with you to take your idea into box form. In February, we’ll be looking for our next season of muses: of groovy folks and weirdos who want to share what they love with others.

Can I tell my cousin or friend to get a box?

Meraki is brand spank’n new, so we’re still testing how it works and for whom. Our vision is for Meraki to be available to anyone in the community! Right now, as we roll out and ramp up, we’re prioritizing people and staff working with posAbilities and Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion.

When will I get my box?

Our Meraki elves are making boxes over the month of November. Boxes will be delivered the first two weeks of December. Whoa! Think of them as early holiday gifts!

How many boxes can I order?

There’s no limit to the number you order -- though boxes will be delivered one-by-one. Try all eight boxes, and unlock a special surprise.

Can I keep the box?

Boxes are on loan to you -- just like books are on loan at the library. You can use all the materials in the box, and every box includes something for you to keep, but we do ask that you return the box to get the next one!

How long can I keep the box?

Boxes will be in circulation until February. After you’ve had the box for three days, we’ll text or call you to make sure you have everything you need. We’ll check-in every few days to see how you’re going. Our recommendation is to keep boxes for one to two weeks, and then order your next one!

How many people can use a box?

Boxes come up with enough materials for two people! If you want to use boxes in a group setting, we recommend ordering one for every couple of people.

Will I get hurt using a box?

We hope not! Boxes are assembled with care. Where we do include sharp objects or unusual materials, we let you know on the box. We provide an explanation booklet, and recommend trying things in pairs! Of course, trying new things can be a little risky, and we think that’s OK. Learning requires us going out of our comfort zones a bit, and that’s what Meraki is for.

Do I need to buy anything to do a box?

Most boxes come with everything you need. A few boxes require tools outside of the box. Dan’s box, for instance, requires a computer. We let you know in the catalogue what additional materials you'll need so you can choose what box work best for you!

Can I meet the muse behind the box?

You sure can. Stay tuned for a very special invite to an end of season PAR-TAY, where you can meet the muses, the team, and get to know all the other folks who’ve tried boxes. Plus, take a peek at the Stretch Challenge in your box: you’ll go places recommended by your muse.
